The Historical District of Arden Park-East Boston is a neighborhood of the city of Detroit, Mischigan, delimited west by Woodward Avenue, to the north with East Boston Boulevard, to the east with Oakland Avenue and south with Arden Park Boulevard. The area is immediately adjacent to the largest historical district of Boston-Edison, on the opposite side of Woodward Avenue, and is very close to Atkinson Avenue. There are 92 houses in the district, all in East Boston and Arden Park Boulevards. Arden Park Boulevard and East Boston Boulevard have prominent medium -sized grass covers with richly planted trees and flowers. Housing setbacks are deep, with large lots. The District was included in the National Registry of Historical Places in 1982.
The neighborhood was originally built in 1892 by Joseph R. McLaughlin and Edmund J. Owen along two streets east of Woodward: specifically, East Boston Boulevard and East Chicago Boulevard. and were given the name of " McLaughlin and Owen subdivision. " The lots were spacious to attract the richest residents of the city. The subdivision was sold twice before being bought by Max Broock, an outstanding real estate promoter, in 1910.
